Being a teacher is both challenging and exciting. It is challenging because it dares you to go beyond your limits and normal boundaries. It’s exciting because you get to discover the skills and potentials you didn’t know you have in you. In addition, you get to practice what you love doing so most of the time, it doesn’t feel like a job at all.
Teaching in Paradise English gives me a sense of fulfillment and ultimate happiness. It’s always nice to meet new people from different countries all over the world and be able to help them improve their English language proficiency, breaking down language barriers and cultural differences. It is a joy to teach students with different nationalities in one day. It somehow feels like travelling to those different countries in a day minus the passport, visa and expenses. This is just one of the many perks that most teachers here enjoy. Moreover, teaching diverse students help you to be more open-minded and widen your perspective of the world. Knowing one’s culture, tradition, values and practices while sharing your own is an extraordinary experience. It helps you to better understand how people from a particular country behave. The most rewarding part of being a teacher is to see your students improve and be able to conquer the world with their English language proficiency.
The sad part though, is the moment you say goodbye. This is inevitable. After spending time together and building friendships, it is heartbreaking to let them go. You just wish that, you and the wonderful experience they had will be forever etched in their memories. Who knows, someday your paths might cross again.
Teaching offers a lot of amazing things, incomparable experiences and opportunities that will surely change your life. The question is, are you up for the challenge?
