A Letter to My Unborn Child

Dear Little One,

You are not yet here but I already feel a deep connection with you. 

I promise to be the greatest mom you have ever known. You cannot choose your father but I can so I will make sure to choose the best one for you. And alongside him, I will strive to be the kind of mother you can be proud of. I will teach you all the things I know and raise you to be a good person. I will never miss any of your recitals, PTA meetings, school events, playdates, family days, birthdays and any other activities that require my attendance. I will not pressure you to get good grades but rather to enjoy your school life while making friends. I will be there on your first day of school until your graduation days. I will hold your hand as you take your first step and as you say your first word. 

I will create a home filled with joy, laughter and unconditional love. I won't let anything hurt you -- not a broken arm, a broken heart or a bad dream. I will listen to you complain about anything. When life gets hard, I will make you feel so loved that you never feel lonely. I will hug you when you cry and catch you when you fall. 

You don't exist yet but the love I have for you is beyond the depths of the ocean. You are the reason that I'm looking forward to my future. I'm so excited thinking about the activities we can do together and the lifetime we can share. I pray that we share the same love for oceans, beaches and the stars.
