MAMA

My mother is my real life hero.

She raised all of us to be strong, independent, honest, compassionate and good people. My mother never showed weakness as she faced all adversities and trials that have come her way through the years. She is a star that could light up a whole planet.

The only time that I saw her vulnerable was when she had her major operation. I waited and prayed for 3 hours and that was the longest 3 hours of my life. The courage that she showed us despite her fears and anxieties is truly inspiring.

During my school life, my mom never pressured me to get good grades at school. She just wanted me to learn and do things fairly. Despite that, I studied hard and tried to excel because I wanted to make her proud. I love it when other people compliment her about her children and how it makes her feel accomplished as a mom.

My mom endures all the difficult things as long as she can. She cries in secret when she's suffering, spends a lot of sleepless nights worrying about us when we are sick and works all night long to pay the bills. She takes the standard of being a mom on another level. She takes care of us tirelessly and endlessly. She's an epitome of pure love.

Sometimes, I argue with my mom because at 27, I still have a curfew. We never reach an agreement about this topic but I know deep inside me that she's just looking after me. One time, we fought about it and I actually felt weird that nobody was texting me when I was out one late night.

She is the best blessing that this life has given me. She is the most important person in my life. She always says that she doesn't have a favorite but I really think that I'm her favorite child.

I may not tell her everything but she is my everything.
